The written word has power and we all struggle to turn our thoughts into words. So, we created ReadonNow to help every child become a confident writer and build on their analytical skills. It is a program that focuses on understanding how a text is written and how to find the clues needed to successfully answer a comprehension.

Originally designed to help year 6 and 11+ students achieve successful exam results but was quickly adapted so every child can become the author of their own ideas, giving them the confidence to express themselves in writing.

We work with your child by:

  • Using stories written by published authors to develop and reapply their skills to become effective writers and find the information to successfully complete a comprehension.
  • Breaking down the key comprehension skills into step-by-step lessons.
  • Guiding them to read between the lines.
  • Exploring the text to find information and then teaching them to accurately record it.
  • Effectively understanding and inferring the author’s meaning.

We use the writing of others to demonstrate how the ideas were turned into prose, helping your child develop their own writing style and build well-constructed sentences. We do this by:

  • Exploring the text for the written meaning and how the author has expressed their ideas and emotions in writing.
  • Finding how grammar and punctuation bring the story alive and give meaning to what you are reading and writing.

We will then help the children reapply these skills into their own writing, to become independent authors of their own words.
